Minutes 1-3: Identify and review the top 3 tasks you need to accomplish that day. By itemizing your day’s priorities, you can stay focused, will feel less scattered, and are more likely to be productive.
Minutes 4-8: Organize your workspace. Toss trash, straighten papers, close extra tabs on your computer. Messy desks are distracting and also hinder your ability to be organized and effective.
Minutes 9-10: Map out a simple schedule for the day. Just map out blocks of time (9-11: answer emails; 11:30: lunch meeting with new client; 2-5: work on final draft of strategic plan) to remain on task and to be better able to manage your workday.
